Poppy Cottage Guest House is a delightful 16th century ‘traditional Dales farmhouse’ attached to the home of Steve & Sally Hall at Ivy Cottage Farm. Set in the quiet little village of Carleton in Craven, just 2 miles from Skipton and within comfortable walking distance of the town using the public footpath across open fields and the River Aire. We believe this is the ideal setting for those who want to escape the hustle and bustle of the town but still have all the amenities close to hand.
We have 3 lovely guest rooms all with their own en-suite bathroom or shower room and lovely views of the hills and countryside. The guest house has its own private entrance, lounge with wood burning stove, stairs and gardens and has ample private parking on site. Our guests will enjoy all the privacy and comfort of the cottage yet benefit from the daily service and hearty Yorkshire breakfast prepared with local produce and our own bacon and sausage from our outdoor reared pigs and eggs are courtesy of our hens ‘the girls’. Breakfast is served in what was the original farm kitchen with its traditional inglenook fireplace, Yorkshire stone floors and mullioned window with seat.
Steve takes great care in preparing your breakfast which could be something as simple as ‘fresh fruit and creamy porridge’ to his signature dish ‘the full monty – set you up for the day’ breakfast and in recognition of this he has received an Enjoy England Breakfast Award 2010.
